Maureen Denise McCormick, the only child of Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. She was raised by an aunt who worked as a housewife and a father who worked as a teacher. Michael Dennis Kevin, her two older brothers. McCormick began dancing and singing in her early years and often performed show-like puppets in front of the kids in her community. When she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6 year old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see whether McCormick was interested in getting into the world of entertainment. McCormick got her first big task when she was cast in the commercial for television that was broadcast in 1964 of Mattels newest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. In the following year, she starred in another commercial for the companys Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play the play Wind It Up And It is Broken at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was picked out of a crowd of over 1,200 kids who auditioned for the chance to be the youngest of three daughters towheaded on the new TV comedy The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with an unintended family. The run of five years for the show was a great success. In her memoir Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice which was published in 2008 McCormick revealed that during the fifth season of the show, she nearly lost her virginity due to her onscreen brother and co-star Barry Williams. He was 19 years old. She was just 16. The woman said it might be possible, however it was never the best timing.
